Miss a day, miss a lot

To catch you up, we listed our house in late February. We took a hard look at our finances and our goals and supporting this huge house just didn't fit in anymore. We were sad but not heart-broken when we made the decision-it was definitely the right thing to do. Fast-forward a few months and we had one open house and about a dozen showings-not a lot of activity. In this market we knew it could take months to sell the house, so we weren't terribly worried.

Grace had school vacation last week so we spent some time in Savannah and Florida. While we were away, we received an offer. It was a real low-ball offer, which we rejected. We went back and forth several times and were still several thousand apart. We flew home Tuesday night and our broker called and asked if we could have a showing Wednesday morning. Sure, pile it on. Just to add to the stress, shortly after arriving home, I let the dog out and she got into a porcupine. I was trying to keep the house neat and the blood off the floor. Fortunately, all that effort paid off-the family who toured on Wednesday presented us with an offer that afternoon that was awesome! So the house is under contract.

The next question is where do we live? We don't know yet but we close on June 4th so we need to make some decisions quickly. We are looking at some houses this weekend, maybe we will fall in love with one.

Oh, and the dog is fine. She had to go to the vet to have the quills pulled out under anesthesia. That wasn't cheap.
