Shoulder Surgery Goes Well
Steve had shoulder surgery at 5 p.m. on Friday--significantly later in the day than we had been told. We arrived at 12:15 so we spent some quality time together in the waiting room.
We finally got home Friday night about 10:30 p.m. Rose kept Grace for us that night-thank God! Steve was up every couple of hours the first night but he has been sleeping pretty well since then. He is in a new sling that holds his arm a few inches away from his body. He DOES NOT like the new sling.
He showered today and is feeling much better. I changed the dressing on the actual wound-it looks great. There are three tiny holes, each with one stitch, in an area about an inch and a half in diameter. Maybe he will let me take a photo of it later to post here.
The surgeon said that Steve will be in a sling for the next 4-6 weeks. He will start physical therapy in 2-3 weeks. Of course, he has a football game tomorrow so he is planning on coaching.
Thank you all for your thoughts, emails, calls and prayers. We are very blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.
