The tree is up!

We were very efficient with our holiday decorating. We picked out a tree in under 10 minutes from the Freeport Fire and Rescue/Rotary tree stand and had it up and decorated in a couple of hours. It is very pretty. Grace LOVED picking out the ornaments and playing with them. She wasn't much help with actually placing them on the tree, however. She believes Santa is coming any minute. She's always stunned to learn it will be almost a month until he makes an appearance.

Another exciting development is the delivery of our new mattress this morning. My back is most grateful. We had had our old mattress for 10 years and it was "preowned" (as Dad likes to say) when we got it. It had been moved so many times that it had a permanent crease in the middle where it had been folded to go up and down stairs. I was not sad to see it go.
